A MAN who has been charged with 10 thefts from cars and vans, as well as attempted burglary, is due to appear in court today (Friday).
Peter Gumble, of Higgins Walk, Stevenage, will take to the stand at Hatfield Remand Court following a series of alleged offences in Stevenage between April 9 and Sunday.
The thefts are alleged to have taken place in Canterbury Way, Foster Close, Chancellors Road, Chapman Road, Whitney Drive and Ingleside Drive, when items including a mobile phone, suitcase, debit cards, an iPad, hair straighteners, jewellery, a radio and a camping stove are believed to have been taken.
The 43-year-old has also been charged with two counts of attempted thefts from motor vehicles during the same period, and two counts of attempted burglary in Morgan Close, Stevenage, on April 9 and in the vicinity of The Old Walled Garden, Stevenage, between May 21 and 22.
