A MAN has been arrested amid allegations that children are illegally being tattooed at a private premises.

A 24-year-old man from Stevenage has been arrested on suspicion of tattooing a minor, proceeds of crime offences and actual bodily harm, with police issuing a public appeal

Officers investigating illegal tattoing concerning those aged under 18 are appealing for people in the Stevenage area to come forward as they believe adults and children may have been tattooed at a private premises in the town in recent months.

Pc Allan Burnham, who is investigating, said: β€œIt is an offence to tattoo anyone under the age of 18 and we would appeal to anyone who is aware of these practises taking place in the Broadwater area of the town to contact police with information.”
