A 33-year-old Stevenage man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted armed robbery after allegedly taking a handgun into a bookmakers.
At around 8.50pm on Saturday, April 13, a man walked into Ladbrokes in the Glebe, holding what a member of staff – who fled the scene – believed to be a gun.
No one was hurt in the incident and nothing was taken from the bookmakers, with an imitation firearm later recovered nearby.
