Ashton set to play a part as he recovers from injury
Stevenage will cast their eye over a number of trailists in a behind closed doors friendly on Tuesday, if the weather permits.
Boro’s groundstaff worked quickly after Saturday’s home defeat to Doncaster Rovers to cover the pitch ahead of the expected snowfall, which came on Sunday evening.
Boro are set to face Crystal Palace in a game which will see a number of players hoping to get a deal with the club in action, including Philadelphia Union goalkeeper Chris Konopka who has been on trial at the club for the past fortnight.
Jon Ashton, the Boro centre-back, is also expected to play some part in the game if it goes ahead as he makes his way back from injury.
