An H&M store planned for Stevenage is no longer going ahead, the company confirmed today (Wednesday).
The clothing chain has pulled out of negotiations to move into the former Waterstone’s shop in The Forum.
A company spokesman said on Wednesday the decision was due to “unforeseen circumstances”, but its expansion team “will work to bring H&M to Stevenage in the near future.”
Town Centre Manager Tracey Parry said the news was very disappointing.
“It would have been a fantastic offer for people in Stevenage. The only thing we can hope is that in the not too distant future circumstances change.”
