Nine-month-old Eden Prowse was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis as a newborn. On Saturday, friends and relatives of her parents Dan Prowse and Charlotte Sallis teamed up for a fundraising day in aid of London’s Great Ormond Street Hospital, including the charity match at the Baldock Arena.

The game pitted the Eden All Stars against a Hitchin Town XI. Dan, who switched from the Eden All Stars to the Hitchin team towards the end of the game, scored a goal for each side as Hitchin won.

There was then a fun day for the youngsters, followed by disco, raffle and more for the adults at Tom Tiddlers Tavern in Stevenage.

Dan told the Comet: “It was an amazing community spirit – overwhelming. Everyone has committed to doing it again next year.”
