Stars from Stevenage FC paid a special visit to the town’s Lister Hospital last week to put a smile on the faces of those being treated there this Christmas.
The annual event was organised by the Stevenage FC Supporters Association and saw first team players Chris Day, Simon Walton, Charlie Lee, Chris Beardsley, Darius Charles and Dean Parrett joined by mascot Boro Bear to surprise youngsters at the Bluebell Ward with presents, as well as handing out Papa Johns pizza for patients and staff alike.
Goalkeeper Chris said: “It was a pleasure to be invited to meet the families at the hospital along with the hard working and often under-appreciated nurses and staff. We hope that we put a smile on their faces at a difficult time for them, because they certainly did ours. We wish them all a happy Christmas and good health.”
