A group of footballers visited a hospital’s children’s ward on Wednesday.
Members of Stevenage Football Club’s first team squad visited the Bluebell Ward at Lister Hospital in Stevenage to greet young fans and hand out Christmas presents.
Goalkeeper Chris Day said: “It’s always nice to pop along and see the kids. Fortunately there weren’t too many people in long-term stays. As much as we like going along it’s always nice not to see many people in there. Everyone seemed in good spirits though which is the most important thing.
“It’s also good to spend a bit of time with parents as well and pay our respects to the nurses who do such a great job. A lot of us live locally in the community and lot of the guys have children. The lads were certainly humbled to see so many brave kids.”
