Celebrate the end of summertime with the CTC. Entries for their 100 kilometre cycle challenge from Stevenage to Saffron Walden and back on Sunday, October 29 are accelerating and may break last year's record. This year there will be a free souvenir for the first 300 entries. You can get your entry form by calling Jim Brown on 01438 354505 or visiting www.stevenagectc.info. Autumn Ambles are organised every Wednesday throughout October. Meet in old Stevenage near the war memorial and Springfield House at 7.15pm. Expect to ride about 15 miles at a sociable pace and to be back in the old town about 10pm, please bring lights. The autumn programme of bike rides and social events has just been published and includes a number of shorter rides to attract newcomers, a Cycleway Celebration of the new town's 60th Anniversary, a trip Round the Mulberry Bush, as well as longer rides for the enthusiasts, for information contact Tina Walker on 01438 235881 or Jim Brown on 01438 354505.
