Love was in the air when a pair of Stevenage childhood sweethearts celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.
Leonard and Lilian Bray met in Hackney when a 15-year-old Leonard walked past his future wife, then 14, on the High Street.
It was love at first sight and, after getting married in London, the couple moved to Stevenage in 1970 where they settled down and had two children, Chris and Pauline.
Their family now includes five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, all of whom wanted to congratulate them on their achievement. Their granddaughter Lauren McKeever said: “It’s a testament that they’re still very much in love.”
