TWO community heroes met with Prime Minister Gordon Brown at a special reception at Downing Street.
Denzil Olton and Bob King were both guests of MP for Stevenage, Barbara Follett, at an event hosted by the PM and his wife, Sarah. The reception was to celebrate the hard work people do for their communities.
Denzil Olton is a volunteer and committee member for Stevenage-based GEMMS - a support group for relatives caring for elderly people who are confused and forgetful, and has also been president of the Stevenage Caribbean and African Association since its inception in 1977.
Bob King led a campaign to raise funds for a new community hall at All Saints Church in Datchworth.
Mrs Follett said: "Bob and Denzil are two of Stevenage's unsung heroes and I am delighted I have had this chance to say thank you for all their work in making our town a better place to live.
