A MAN who stole a charity box from a gym has been fined and will take part in a drug dependency programme.

Iain Findlay, of York Road, Stevenage, took an unknown amount of cash from a box at David Lloyd Gym and Fitness Centre on Stevenage Leisure Park in August 2012.

The 38-year-old pleaded guilty to theft when appearing at Stevenage Magistrates’ Court and was ordered to pay a £60 victim surcharge and court costs of £25.

Findlay will have undergo drug rehabilitation treatment and is required to attend regular supervision meetings.
