Graham Westley believes there are good things to come from his Stevenage side as they get stuck in to their League 2 campaign.

Boro have bagged four points from a possible nine, and while the ‘injustices’ from the 1-1 draw at Plymouth on Tuesday remain raw, Westley has seen many positives throughout his squad.

Speaking to the Comet, he said: “One point out of six on the road, four points out of nine in total, I actually think it’s a better start than we may have got when you take into account all the factors around the team.

“There’s been a lot of change, a lot of debutants, a lot of lads stepping up from lower levels; it takes time. You saw that when we came into the Football League as Conference champions.

“What you see in the first two or three games is lads acclimatising and [it] will bear no resemblance to the season.

“Actually I think there have been lots of positive signs in the first two or three games. I think the lads have adjusted very well on the whole. We haven’t been at full strength, but despite that the lads have adjusted very well.

“There is lots of promise in the early stages.”
