As a long time Hitchin resident I am clearly opposed to this development on principle. And Hitchin's infrastructure could not cope. The council should impose major restrictions on any development e.g. all housing should be carbon neutral; Luton must pay for all infrastructure (roads, schools, medical, water, utilities etc.); no housing under airport flight paths; NHDC should receive all council taxes in compensation for lost land.
