FOUR railway stations in Comet country are to benefit in a £6m round of spending by the Department of Transport.
The station that gets the biggest investment in the area is Sandy with £29,000 for the provision of a disability legislation-compliant ticket office window and electronic door closers.
Hitchin station gets £22,000 and Letchworth GC station £12,500 for a similar window.
Arlesey station gets £6,000 for the construction of an access ramp to provide step-free access to the station platforms and a new dropped kerb and markings for disabled bays in the car park.
