St Swithun’s VC Lower School in Sandy is celebrating after it was rated ‘good’ in all areas by Ofsted.

Assessors visited the school in Ivel Road in January for a rigorous two-day inspection, and commented afterwards that ‘the schol has maintained a positive ethos in which pupils feel valued, have confidence to achieve and make good academic progress’.

The school offers a flexible nursery provision, along with reception in a purpose-built Early Years building.

Ofsted noted: “Leadership of Early Years is a strength. Children make good progress in the Nursery class and this continues in Reception. Children are well prepared for Year 1.”
