The four soup lunches held in March were a great success. They were well attended and £450 was raised. This will be split between the Disasters Emergency Committee Asian Earthquake Appeal and the Friends of Pirton Parish Church who organised the events. Warm thanks are due to those who hosted the lunches, those who made and served the soups and, not least, all the villagers who attended and donated so generously. Anyone unable to get to St Mary's and would like the sacrament to be brought to their home has only to ring 712230 and it can be arranged: normally on a monthly basis.
