DANCE teachers are appealing for sponsorship to fund their team competing at championship level.
Based in St Michael's Church hall, Broadway, Letchworth GC, Emma Scott and Vicky Mycroft teach street dance, freestyle and rock 'n' roll to youngsters aged seven to 16 at their academy Energy Vibe.
The squad of 26 was formed about a year ago and the dancers compete collectively and individually at nationwide competitions every six to eight weeks.
Emma, 32, said: "They are at intermediate status but are progressing very quickly.
"They came first in the first three competitions they entered.
"The groups are getting closer and closer to championship status and it's getting more and more expensive. We have to raise funds ourselves to pay for travel, team tracksuits and dance costumes.
"The parents of our dancers have to meet a lot of these costs themselves, but why should only the dancers who can afford it be able to compete?"
The dance squad is looking for sponsors. For more information, email evibe06@btinternet.com
