Families in North Herts can look forward to plenty of outdoor quality time together as town splash parks officially open for the summer, just in time for the bank holiday weekend

On Saturday, April 29, North Herts District Council’s free splash parks, jets, fountains and bucket drops are being turned on, officially opening for the summer months.

Splash parks at Priory Memorial Gardens in Royston, Bancroft Recreation Ground in Hitchin, Avenue Park in Baldock will also be joined by the water feature and paddling pool at Howard Park and Gardens in Letchworth.

Keen swimmers can also enjoy Hitchin and Letchworth’s outdoor swimming pools, opening on May 27.

Vaughan Watson, NHDC’s head of leisure and environmental services, said: “We currently have four fantastic free water park facilities in North Hertfordshire and two 50 meter outdoor pools, meaning that each town in the district has a facility on their doorstep. We hope local people will get out there and really take the time to enjoy them this season.”
