BABY Ethan's story captured the hearts of Comet readers over recent weeks. Fundraising parents Greig and Debbie Herne raised £6,250 during an auction which they presented to charity enhance herts' Building Blocks appeal at Great Ashby Community Centre.
Greig, 34, and Debbie, 40, from Grays Lane, Hitchin, donated the funds to the special care baby unit at Lister Hospital after Ethan spent months in there suffering from problems after his premature birth.
Suzanne Roynon, fundraiser for enhance herts, said: "Greig and Debbie have worked wonders and the babies in SCBU will benefit greatly from their dedication and local goodwill. We really appreciate everything they have done."
Due to the success of the auction and activities held at the Red Lion pub in Preston the couple hope to stage another event next year.
