Boro boss says his future lies with Stevenage

Gary Smith says he must be doing something right at Stevenage if his name is being linked to jobs at other clubs.

The Boro boss was installed as fifth favourite with one bookmaker over the weekend for the vacant Doncaster Rovers position - Rovers beat Stevenage 2-1 on Saturday - and speaking about the link Smith says he is flattered but his future is with Boro. “I think any time that you’re linked with a club that are in their position - they’ve come down from the Championship, they’ve got terrific support and fantastic facilities - of course it’s nice to be linked with those jobs,” Smith said after Saturday’s loss.

“It means that maybe there’s something going well here. I’m flattered, but the bottom line is that I don’t know too much about it and as you can see with what we’ve achieved today there’s a lot of work to be done here and my work is still here.”
