Prospective business owners in Stevenage were able to get some valuable advice yesterday when the Small Business Saturday bus called at Stevenage for a special roadshow event in partnership with Stevenage Borough Council.
The bus takes business experts around the UK to talk to businesses and people who want to start them.
There were also representatives from Stevenage Business technology centre which offers a free support hub for businesses.
There were speeches and advice stands and people were able to pick up information leaflets.
The event was also attended by business leaders from Stevenage and North Herts, Stevenage MP Stephen McPartland and Stevenage Borough Council leader Sharon Taylor.
Mr McPartland said, “It is fantastic that the Small Business Saturday Bus stopped in Stevenage, as we are the economic engine of Hertfordshire. We have thousands of small businesses making Stevenage their home due to the fantastic transport links into London and elsewhere. When I became the Member of Parliament in 2010 they were taking on around 200 apprentices a year, but now, they are taking almost a 1,000 apprentices a year - giving our young people the first step in their careers.”
