New Boro striker Jamie Slabber went the right way about endearing himself to his new set of fans.
The former Spurs man scored on his debut and played the first hour of Saturday's FA Trophy victory against Leigh RMI.
Boro boss Mark Stimson said: "Jamie did well and I was pleased with him. His goal should give him a lot more confidence.
"He got a bit of cramp and ran himself into the ground.
"Jamie's a decent size and has a good goal record."
Speaking about the win over Leigh, Stimson added: "We knew they would come and try and frustrate us.
"We had to be patient and I thought we were always in control. We kept the ball really well and I was always confident the goals would come."
Another striker Darryn Stamp (pictured right) has completed a move to Conference rivals Halifax in an 18-month deal.
Signed by previous boss Graham Westley two years ago, Stamp was part of the Boro side which contested the promotion play-off final at the end of that season.
He was also a regular for much of last season and in total scored 21 goals for Boro.
Stamp started only one match for Boro this campaign - on the opening day against Altrincham - and spent most of the first half of the season on loan at York City.
Stimson added: "Darryn didn't feature in my plans. He has scored goals at this level but he is not my type of player.
