A group of singers were certainly in tune at a national championship.

Shannon Express of the Potton Barbershop Harmony Club had gone to the annual barbershop championships in Harrogate after warming up in front of local residents.

At Harrogate they faced fierce competition from 26 other chorus groups and sang their way to a very respectable fifth place which was one better than last year.

"There is still a hill to climb but the result will give us the impetus to strive for even greater things next year," said John Bradford of Shannon Express.
