The Shuttleworth Collection has made a prominent appearance on a new Channel 4 show.

Flying Across Britain visited Old Warden in the series’ second episode, which aired on Sunday.

Hosted by Arthur Williams, the show sees him fly across the country. He was in south-east England during the weekend’s episode.

He visited the airfield during the opening airshow of the season, flying before the display began in the de Havilland DH60x Moth – the very aircraft in which collection’s founder Richard Shuttleworth learned to fly.

During the show, Arthur said: “In terms of aviation it’s world beating. This is one of my favourite places, if not the favourite place for me to come and visit when I’m flying.

“What I love about this place is how timeless it all feels.

“What an amazing thing he [Richard Shuttleworth] has left us to this day.”
