There are only returns for a brilliant comic featured on Shooting Stars later this month in Hitchin.

The evening features a performance of the hit touring show Angelos and Barry: The New Power Generation.

‘Angelos Epithemiou’ – who has featured on BBC2’s Shooting Stars – and ‘Barry from Watford’ of BBC Radio 2’s Steve Wright in the Afternoon fame come to Hitchin following the succcess of their critically acclaimed podcast, a UK tour and a run at London’s Soho Theatre.

The comedy characters will be discussing a wide range of topics from claiming benefits in space to how Ban Ki Moon nearly lost The UN in a poker game.

Angelos is the creation of comic actor Dan Renton Skinner – who won Best Breakthrough Artist as the character at the 2011 British Comedy Awards before replacing George Dawes as scorekeeper on Vic Reeves & Bob Mortimer’s cult BBC2 gameshow Shooting Stars and starring in the eponymously-titled show for Channel 4. Skinner is also a regular for all manner of sitcoms, including The Office, House of Fools, Coupling and My Family.

The man behind Barry from Watford is Alex Lowe, who has also appeared in countless popular series including BBC1’s Still Open All Hours, BBC2’s House of Fools, Saxondale and The Thick of It, and Channel 4’s Phoenix Nights.

Comedian, actress and musician Katie Pritchard joins them on the bill. Katie’s versatility has led to her touring the UK, writing for the long-running weekly topical London Fringe show ‘NewsRevue’ and winning Reality Bites’ 2016 New Act of the Year, Funny Women’s ‘One to Watch’ award and getting to the semi-finals in the 2016 Musical Comedy Awards. She also runs her own club, Variety of Kings, at London’s Improv Theatre.

This will be her first appearance at Mostly Comedy.

The gig takes place on Wednesday, May 24, at The Sun Hotel in Sun Street. Doors open at 7.30pm for an 8pm start. Tickets cost £11 and are available at www.mostlycomedy.co.uk.
