Stevenage manager and his assistant registered ahead of the game, but club now has enough numbers to make their inclusion unnecessary
Stevenage have announced that Teddy Sheringham will not play in this evening’s Herts Senior Cup match at Welwyn GC.
The club confirmed to the Comet yesterday that both Sheringham, who is 49, and his assistant Kevin Watson, 41, had been registered as players this week ahead of the match in case they were required to feature in tonight’s game at Herns Lane.
However, it looks like the club now have enough fit and available players, made up from the first-team squad and the club’s U18s Academy, to make up the numbers required for the match and the former Spurs duo’s inclusion is unnecessary.
