Sharon Taylor, Labour's candidate for Stevenage in the general election, visited The Squirrel pub in Chells to celebrate with regulars the news that the British pint, along with the pint of milk and the mile for road traffic have been reprieved.
Sharon welcomed government action to save our traditional pint. She said,
"These traditional measures are part of the fabric of life in this country and I am delighted that they are now protected indefinitely."
Landlord Dave Bannister commented,
"The pint is a British institution and all the lads and lassies at the Squirrel are well happy with continuing to drink the pint.
