Trains were delayed this afternoon after a woman was taken ill while onboard a train which had to stop at Stevenage.

A Grand Central train heading northbound from London King’s Cross was stopped at Stevenage after reports that a passenger had been taken ill at about 3.45pm.

Great Northern staff boarded the train and assisted in calling an ambulance for the woman.

The line was temporary blocked but reopened at 4.07pm, and services have since returned to normal.
