Stevenage Borough Council has organised a short service of remembrance for the victims of Monday's terrorist attack in Manchester.

It will take place at the Joyride in Stevenage town centre today at 6pm.

Everyone is welcome to attend – simply turn up shortly before 6pm.

The flag is currently flying at half-mast at the council’s headquarters at Daneshill House as a mark of respect for those people who were killed and there is a book of condolence open in the council’s Customer Service Centre next to the council offices.

Some 22 concert-goers, including children, were killed – with dozens more injured – when a lone attacker detonated an improvised explosive device as people were leaving the Manchester Arena after the show by American pop star Ariana Grande.
