STEVENAGE is set to get even greener with two tree planting ceremonies at local schools.

As part of National Tree Week and Stevenage In Bloom, seven trees will be planted at Almond Hill School tomorrow (Friday) and another seven will be planted at Lodge Farm school next Thursday.

Both schools won the trees in the Stevenage In Bloom poster competition, held earlier this year.

Almond Hill School has bought 300 bulbs, including bluebells and snowdrops, that will be planted around their trees by students dressed in wildlife costumes.

The planting ceremony there will also be part of the publicity for the Britain In Bloom 2007 seminar, which will be held in Stevenage in February.

Photographs of the ceremony will be used by national papers for the launch of the seminar.
