A whole school went green, quite literally today (Wednesday) to promote sustainable living.

Pupils, staff and parents dressed in the colour at Lonsdale School as part of a Green Day to promote sustainable activities.

Woolenwick and Larwood school representatives, as well as the Stevenage Mayor, Michael Downing and members of the business community joined in with a litter pick, a recycled arts competition and a completely green lunch.

Organiser Claudia Thiele said: “After winning the Comet Community Awards in the ‘great and green’ category in 2010 and also the Hertfordshire Green Award 2010, our green day is an opportunity to let people know that our school is still working hard around environmental issues.”
