The last meeting was the AGM held at Potton Station. After the formal part of the meeting George Howe showed a video that he and John Harradine had made for the 1987 AGM. Following the break and raffle, Ray Crane presented his own video clips that he had assembled and part of a German train programme called Eisenbahn Romantik. The next meeting at Sandy Social Centre is on Wednesday, August 30, at 7.30pm, when John Fadelle tells The Story of Scammell. Who could forget the sight of a mighty Scammell on the road? John brings us the inside story of this British truck manufacturer from its rise to ultimate decline. Doors open at 7.15. Friday, September 22, sees the return of the autumn barn dance, after a gap of two years. This will be held at Sandy Upper School from 8pm to midnight. Tickets, at £7 each which includes supper, are now available from Colin at 2 Leeds Smith Drive or telephone 682032. Music will be provided by the popular Bricks and Brussels Band.
