Will hold its second Annual Open Meeting at the Town Council Offices Sandy on Tuesday, March 14 starting at 7.30pm. Our CSG is a voluntary group aiming to help all residents live a safe and crime free life in Sandy and anyone with an interest in local crime and safety issues is welcome to attend. This is an opportunity to give our group a steer on the issues which really matter to residents in 2006 and to volunteer to join our committee and take part in our work. We would welcome representation from other local societies and organisations, so we become as representative as possible of the local community on crime prevention and community safety matters. Since most of our members are in full time employment, we are looking for individuals who are available in Sandy during the day and can provide us with a day shift to supplement our evening and weekend activities. The Group was formed in 2004 with support from Mid Beds District Council Sandy Town Council, Bedfordshire Police and Neighbourhood Watch. Some of the activities we have been involved in are manning community safety and crime prevention roadshows, organising the Sandy Kill your Speed wheelie bin sticker campaign and supporting the Sandy No Cold Calling Zone. Information is available from Richard Barlow on 01767 226392.
