The range of activities includes making bird cake, and taking it home in a feeder, face-painting, garden bird advice, and seeing wool-spinning demonstrations. If the weather is fine, RSPB scientists will be trapping birds and attaching rings to their legs - a great way to see birds in close-up, and find out what can be learnt from them. There are no admission charges for this day. The next guided walk to Sandy Heath Quarry, on Thursday, November 2. This free event begins at 2pm at The Lodge shop. Looking further ahead, the ever-popular fungus forays will be held on Sunday, November 5, starting at 10am and at 1.30pm.
