There will be a guided walk with a difference at RSPB The Lodge nature reserve, Sandy, on this Sunday. Dr Jill Eyers of Chiltern Archaeology will lead visits to two quarry sites, at The Lodge and at Lafarge Sandy Heath Quarry, showing us some fascinating links with distant lands and eras. The event begins at 10am at The Lodge shop and ends about 3pm, with a break for lunch (bring your own). There is a charge of £3, plus the reserve entrance fee if you are not a member of the RSPB. Visit The Lodge shop or call 01767 680541 to book. Sandy Heath Quarry is also the destination for a guided walk on Friday, October 13, beginning at 2pm. This free event begins at The Lodge shop.
