Have you ever wondered about doing some practical conservation work? Perhaps you're wary of volunteering to do something very different? Do you want to burn off some calories? On Sunday, January 29, you can have a try, without making any commitment, by joining a work party at Sandy Heath Quarry. The work will be to clear invasive broom scrub, using bow saws and loppers. This will enable heather and other heathland plants to spread, making the area more attractive to birds and other wildlife. You will need to wear boots, old clothes and bring refreshments. Gloves and tools will be provided. Meet at The Lodge Gatehouse at 10am, and finish when you are ready!
