Second challenge on Sunday. His first having been entering the village quiz and being in the winning team. The second being his entry in the Flora 2006 London Marathon when he duly completed the gruelling 26 mile course. When he announced his intention to compete most of those who knew him saw this as a non- starter, over the months his Father Christmas shape fined down and he was running round with our post. Norma Fears the Whitwell Postmistress accompanied Rosie's family to London to cheer him on. His son, Craig was also competing, both were supporting the charity MACS, which supports children born with no eyes or very small ones, and their families. Norma and the family saw Rosie just after Tower Bridge, about twelve miles in, and yelled and cheered but he did not see them. Luckily Craig, who came along a few minutes later, saw them. Rosie phoned them quite excited at one point to tell them that he had just overtaken a teddy bear! Craig and Rosie were both spotted at the 23 mile point and they went over and talked to them. At that point they were hanging in there, plodding doggedly on. They both finished and notched up their 26 miles. Congratulations Rosie and Craig.
