A man was forced to withdraw money from a cash point after being assaulted by a man and a woman in an early morning robbery on Sunday.

The victim was walking towards the Esso petrol station on Lytton Way, Stevenage between 3am and 3.30am when he was engaged in a conversation with the couple. The woman then grabbed his neck and the man threatened him before they frogmarched him to a hole-in-the-wall at the garage.

The attackers then made off towards Lytton Way.

The male offender is described as white, around 5ft 9ins tall, with short brown hair. He was wearing dark jeans, a dark polo shirt and had a tattoo of a cross on the left side of his neck.

The woman is described as white, of broad build, around 5ft 6ins tall with pink and red streaked hair. She was wearing a short, tight white dress with straps.

Dc Matt Creese, investigating, said: “This was an audacious crime which has left the victim shocked. We are determined to find these offenders and bring them to justice. I would urge anyone who may have seen this incident or who may recognise their descriptions to come forward immediately.”
