A road has reopened more than 24 hours after a car collided with a pylon in Baldock.
Homes in Baldock were left without power after a green Audi A4 collided with a wooden electricity pylon in North Road – near the junction with Salisbury Road – at about 2.30am yesterday.
UK Power Networks – which had to cut electricity supplies to 138 homes in Baldock for safety reasons – restored all homes to power by yesterday afternoon, and the road was reopened in both directions at about 7am this morning.
A 24-year-old man was arrested yesterday on suspicion of drink driving.
