Family and friends came together at a Hitchin pub at the weekend to remember much-missed regular Richard Cornes, and raise money for charity.
Richard’s brother Kevin posted on Facebook that his brother – who was 39 when he died in May – would have loved the event held at The Three Moorhens on Saturday in aid of the Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity.
Kevin said: “So proud of what the Moorhens have done today. Thank you.”
The fundraiser was summed up by one of their friends as a “lovely day for a lovely man”.
Richard, whose passions included Tottenham Hotspur FC and karaoke, now has a memorial plaque on one of the walls in the pub at Hitchin Hill.
There was live music and karaoke at the fundraiser, as well as a bouncy castle, barbecue, face-painting and more.
The Three Moorhens thanked everyone who came to support the fun day, and confirmed that £416.92 had been raised for Great Ormond Street in Richard’s memory.
