THOUSANDS of people across Comet country fell silent as they paid their respects to the fallen.
Remembrance Sunday services were held across Stevenage, North Herts and Mid Beds and the surrounding villages last week.
Members of the public young and old, including serving servicemen and woman were joined by local dignitaries to pay tribute to those who have and continue to serve in the armed forces.
On the 11th hour a two-minute silence was held after the town clock sounded.
Parades and church services were held on the day with wreathing laying ceremonies at war memorials throughout the area.
Thousands of people also respected the two-minute silence on Twitter, abstaining from posting messages during the period of reflection. The idea was spread using the hashtag #2minutesilence.
