Regulars help our heroes

A special event to raise money for our brave servicemen and women takes place on Friday night.

The Pear Tree pub in Stevenage will be hosting a disco and karaoke night for the Help for Heroes charity which supports injured servicemen and their families. Prizes will be auctioned too, including a signed Stevenage Football Club ball, New You gym membership and restaurant vouchers among many others.

Landlord Marc Edwards, said most of the regulars are ex-service people who are all behind the fundraising event which has taken two months to plan.

“It just meant something to us - they don’t get a lot of help from the Government. There’s not many things you can be proud of and this is one of them,” he said.
