NOT content with juggling the demands of four children, an energetic mum has decided to tackle this year's London Marathon.

Inga Hass, 42, from West View, Letchworth GC, will be taking on the gruelling 26.2-mile challenge to raise money for Whizz-Kidz, a charity which provides customised wheel-chairs and tricycles for disabled children.

The community-minded mum was inspired to rise to the challenge as her daughter Jasmine, 14, has previously received help from the charity.

Inga said: "They're great, they're really, really good people."

Along with running partner Jonathan Bailes, Inga has been preparing for the event since September, running five times a week, as well as going to the gym and swimming.

Their longest run so far has been 14 miles and Inga says she is enjoying it and already feeling the benefits.

"My fitness levels have improved. I've never been this fit," she said.

She and Jonathan are aiming to get round the course in about five hours in April, and are hoping to run as much of it as possible.

Along with Jasmine, Inga said her other children, Genevieve, 15, Natasha, 12, and Lucas, 10 months, plus her husband Vaughn, are fully behind her fundraising plans.

"They've been great, they're always very supportive of me whatever I do," she said.

Her family are a large part of her motivation for keeping up the training as they will all be there on the day to cheer her along.

She said: "It would be lovely for them to be able to say 'mum, you've done it, you've made it to the end'."

Inga and Jonathon are hoping to raise as much money as possible, but they are aiming to reach at least £1,400 each.

They have already got a number of corporate sponsors, but are looking for more, as well as individuals to donate money.
