Ram-raiders have stolen thousands of pounds of vintage watches at a jewellers in Little Wymondley in the early hours of this morning.

A car described by police as a ‘jeep-type’ vehicle was used to ram the shutters of Andrew Charles Watch and Clockmakers at 3am.

Det Con Steve Cook from the North Herts Local Crime Unit said: “The offenders set off the alarms and would have made a considerable amount of noise during the break in – so would have attracted the attention of anyone in the area at the time or neighbours.

“Anyone with any information about this crime, who saw a jeep-type vehicle in the area at the time, or who has been offered a high-end watch for sale in suspicious circumstances is asked to please contact the police immediately.”

If you have information call DC Cook on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
