Ram raiders smash car into service station and newsagents in Potton

Ram raiders have driven a car into two businesses in Potton causing extensive damage.

Police are appealing for information after a black Vauxhall Vectra was rammed into a section of Potton service station shortly before 2am on Tuesday morning, then, minutes later, the same car was used to smash into McColl’s newsagents in King Street.

The car did not have any number plates, and had alloy wheels on the back.

Police have described the criminals as white men, wearing balaclavas.

One is described as tall and the other as short.

One was wearing a blue Armani t-shirt.

The car was later recovered burnt out in Mill Lane, Potton.

Investigation Officer Dawn Cooke, said: “We are keeping an open mind about whether these incidents are linked, but in order to help us piece together the movements of the vehicle throughout the evening, we are keen to hear from anyone who saw a black Vauxhall Vectra in the Potton area. Where was it, and which direction was it heading?”
