Railway lines through Stevenage were blocked for an hour last night after there was concern for a person’s welfare on the bridge at Chequers Bridge Road in Stevenage.
British Transport Police and Great Northern posted on their Twitter accounts shortly after 8pm saying a ‘trespass incident’ to the north of Stevenage had caused them to close the lines.
Ambulance crews attended and escorted the person to safety.
The lines were reopened but there were knock on delays to train services.
