A passionate anti-litter campaigner is set to see her project to install colourful bins in Hitchin come to fruition today.

Mum of two Rachel Campbell, who lives in Wymondley Road, has been working hard on her ‘binstallations’ programme to create brightly coloured bins for people to place their rubbish in the town centre.

And now the 10 brightly coloured ‘binstallations’ – sponsored by Hitchin businesses – are ready to be unveiled and put to good use.

Rachel said: “Litter is damaging, depressing and so unnecessary.

“I hope the bins will become a talking point. But more importantly I hope they’ll prompt more and more people to use them rather than chucking litter across our wonderful town. I say if you love Hitchin – use the bin!”
