THE day that Comet country has been waiting for has arrived, as the Queen will visit both Hitchin and Stevenage this morning (Thursday).
Her Majesty is scheduled to visit Hitchin Market Place and Lister Hospital today as part of her royal tour of the country.
She will visit Hitchin first, and is scheduled to meet schoolchildren, dignitaries and volunteers at about 10.45am.
She will then be whisked off to Lister Hospital, in Stevenage, where she will officially open the new maternity ward. This will happen about 11.15am.
Following her visit to Comet country, she will continue her tour by heading several miles south to Hatfield.
Continue to visit the Comet website throughout the day, and see next week’s paper for reaction, a full round-up and photographs.
