Protesters to take to the streets over Stevenage Mail Centre closure

POST office workers will march in Stevenage tomorrow (Saturday) to protest against Royal Mail’s proposed closure of Stevenage Mail Centre.

The march, organised by the Communication Workers’ Union (CWU), will see representatives from Ipswich, Norwich, Northampton and London join workers from Comet country as they voice their dissatisfaction with plans to move all mail processing work from Stevenage to Hemel Hempstead, as part of a wider Royal Mail review.

Protesters will gather at the London Road site before setting off on the march at 1pm, which will culminate with a rally at the Joyride Platform in Stevenage Town Square.
